Originally from the Isle of Wight but now based in Wells-next-the-Sea, North Norfolk, Alison’s practice reflects her longstanding interest in and passion for the increasingly threatened natural world. She focuses on the minutiae of natural objects and creatures and their infinite variety of forms, patterns and textures. Taking everyday fragments - a seed pod, shell, dried plant material, a wasp's nest – she explores their patterns, rhythm and movement to inspire organic abstract forms in clay. The finished pieces are fired or cast in bronze, resin and other composite finishes.
