Painting

Born in Paris, I wanted to paint before I could write, forever fascinated by lights, colours, shapes and their interplay. I loved the smell of oil paint and its messiness.
I attended the "Cours Martenot" in Paris and carried on from there.
As I developed an academic career, travelled a lot, then went on to have a family, my painting slowed down - although I sold some of my work in Paris, Luxembourg, Acapulco (Mexico) and Kaduna (Nigeria).
Sandro Boticelli, J. B. Camille Corot, Maurice de Vlaminck, Yves Tanguy, Giorgio de Chirico are among my favourite artists.
Since 2013 and a deep personal loss, I have found my way back to painting.
I am now based in Bury St Edmunds. I work in situ, from photographs I have taken and from memory.

Oil paintings change; they live and they breathe. They can transmit peace, strength, energy - holding a moment in time and space. That is the beauty I want to share.

Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
