I work with found materials, my 'treasures', which reflects my fascination with the mundane; the ordinary, often overlooked natural matter which reflects the marvellous qualities of the commonplace.

My aim is always to suggest rather than define, to evoke a mood or atmosphere in the way of poetry or music. I am interested in ancient landscapes and their stories and, although I am no linguist, words have always sung to me and I enjoy the playfulness of language and its capacity for creating wonder.

My paintings draw on the same roots, exploring scale and perspective through time and place. I have a background in illustration but in 2009 I set up Artbox (now a CIC) which provides art sessions for adults with special needs from our studio and exhibition space in Chediston, near Halesworth
