Living on a farm just outside Bury St Edmunds with my two grown up boys and my cat, I am a self-confessed photography addict! I’ve always been interested in photography, but after joining a local camera club in 2017 I have improved my skills and honed my talent. I have entered many images into national photographic exhibitions and earned myself a qualification giving me letters after my name.

My 3 main passions are: People, landscapes and street photography.

In landscape photography, I'm fascinated by the drama which occurs naturally in the landscape with the fluctuations in weather conditions. The way the landscape changes with an approaching storm or a rainbow after the storm, and the light and colours highlighted with sunrays bursting through the clouds, in contrast to dark or gloomy skies. I am drawn to the sea and love to spend a sunrise or sunset at the coast, but I’m also very excited to witness and photograph the sheer force of nature as the wind whips up the waves in a stormy sea.

Within the landscape genre, I have also recently started to experiment with ‘in camera’ techniques to create more artistic images, taking my inspiration from the impressionism art movement.
By using a combination of in camera multiple exposures and intentional camera movement I love to create a beautiful abstract image of an otherwise ordinary scene.

I am also just as comfortable in the city, and really enjoy a busy Sunday in Brick Lane or Camden, photographing the colourful street scenes and enjoy meeting total strangers and getting them to post for a street portrait, as well as taking more candid shots of passers-by.

In contrast to this I also photograph weddings and family shoots. My wedding style would be described as documentary rather than posed, so I can mingle with the guests to capture all the natural moments and real emotion happening throughout the day, but I am more than happy to take a few group shots to accommodate family members who want photos for the family album.

In family photo shoots, I prefer to work out in nature with natural light and where children can run around and not be self-conscious in front of the camera.
