John Tordoff

Painting

After graduating from RADA, John pursued a career as a professional actor; working in Theatre, Cinema and Television.  During these years any formal training in art was acquired at London's City Lit and Morley College . 

In 2004 he bought with his partner a house in Umbria and began to apply himself fully to painting. In 2005 there was a solo exhibition at the Barbican Library in the City. Called Icons, it consisted of 18 larger than life size portraits of historical personalities in a contemporary style.  

Having moved from London to Cambridge in 2009, he participates annually in Cambridge Open Studios and is an elected member of the Cambridge Drawing Society .    

He exhibits regularly with Byard Art, Kings Parade , Cambridge and in the last year has shown at the Mall Gallery, London, in both the Society of Wildlife Artists and The Pastel Society.
