I first went to art school at the tender age of fifteen, studying at, Banbury Collage of Art in Oxfordshire, followed by, Hornsey College of Art, London, specialising in illustration.
After college, I spent a few years in advertising as a designer until I became a freelance, press illustrator, contributing to national newspapers, The Daily Mail, Mirror Group Newspapers and The London Evening Standard, for example and many magazines, until I retired.
I now paint full time. I can still see the illustrator in my work, in the watercolours and pastels, which are figurative and detailed but in my recent paintings I have let that go and am enjoying making geometric, abstract shapes, shapes next to shapes, with a limited palette, hard edge, in acrylic on canvas.
