Michelle Parsons

Michelle Parsons’ artistic practice draws inspiration from organic forms, encompassing subjects such as lobsters, fish, and birds. She elevates these natural elements through her vibrant application of colour and evocative mark-making. The resulting artworks are bold declarations of colour and expression, rich in depth, texture, and contrast.

Michelle specialises in large-scale oil paintings, collaborating with interior designers, restaurants, and private clients globally. In addition to her painting, she also works with monoprint, etching, and lino printmaking techniques.

As a member of both the Suffolk Art Society and Suffolk Open Studios, Michelle opens her art studio to the public each June. She also dedicates her time to art education, working part-time at a college in Cambridge, conducting weekly life drawing classes and organising regular art workshops.

Michelle articulates her artistic philosophy: “Close-up organic forms create an abstracted expressive surface based on space, light, colour and texture. A sense of depth; blurred backgrounds and loose brushstrokes contrast with sharp detail and tighter representational mark-making. The longer I create, the more I realise that my work is all about the composition as a whole.”
