Printmaking

Works displayed here are collagraphs made by cutting into and sticking shapes onto mount board, the plate is then sealed and inked. Collagraphs take time to make and there is always an element of surprise when removing the print from the press.

I also make mono, dry point and lino prints usually inspired by my collection of sketches. Drawing and painting are an important part of my life. While training as a primary school teacher I chose art for personal study which enabled me to hold extra-curricular art groups for my pupils.

Since retiring to Suffolk, a variety of professional printmaking courses and workshops have played a major role in my development. I have exhibited and sold my work around East Anglia and am a member of Gainsborough's House Print Workshop in Sudbury.
