Having always loved art, retirement has given me the opportunity to paint and create at will and this makes me very happy.

I enjoy creating fresh, botanical pieces that I call ‘Fantasy Flora’, inspired the array of flowers and plants in my garden and on my walks.

My work is in mixed media collage, with the collage pieces crafted from paper that I handprint and then print on a jelly plate. Each piece is then individually cut by hand and added to the canvas, which is a time intensive process. I then fill in with acrylic paint and pen.

There is an element of abstract in my fantasy florals rather than faithfully reproducing specific plants and I love it when someone says “is that a gerberer or a geranium!”
