From my very beginnings as a painter, I have sought to make my work a reflection of the times in which I live.

Deeply influenced by artists such as Edward Hopper, my main area of interest is the urban landscape, it’s streets, its buildings and it people.

At this time an example would be scenes of traffic at night, their headlights reflected on wet roads. I work mainly in mixed media, a combination of acrylic and collage. The addition of torn up newsprint adds an extra layer of interest to the scene, asking the viewer to work a little harder, delve a little deeper, than perhaps they would otherwise do.

Another aim is to provide the strongest contrasts, both in colour and tone.
