Lucy Bell

I studied Fine Art at Oxford and in London and moved to Suffolk over 10 years ago.

My rural environment inspires all my work, in particular woodland for its very particular atmosphere which lends itself to imaginative interpretation.

The ideas evolve through colour studies which are free to go wherever the imagination takes them while keeping the source of inspiration in mind!

I find working with oils and often combined with wax and pigments, brings similarities with contrasts of texture found in nature.

I am also interested in finding parallels with textiles in the way shape, colour and surface combine.
